Helping Hands Food Pantry

KWO operates The Helping Hands Food Pantry for the Town of Killingworth. The pantry now provides free supplemental food, meat, dairy, produce, bread and non-perishables to those who are food-insecure/hungry on Thursdays from 3:00pm-5:30pm. Clients can come once or come weekly. There is currently no qualification process, or administrative barriers to receive food. Your participation as a client in the food pantry is confidential. The pantry also conducts three annual special pantry days that occur during normal hours and feature seasonal items in the fall, winter and spring.

Clients are encouraged to self-shop for free food in our grocery store-like pantry.  If you can’t make designated hours please call 860-663-1765 ext. 401 or email Delivery is also available for those who are homebound, and cannot make it to the pantry.

Non-perishable food items are welcome anytime.

There’s a box outside the front door of the building split between the pantry and the Backpack program. Please mark bags for the pantry with “Helping Hands.”

Perishable items are not accepted, except for home-grown garden produce and farm-fresh eggs (please mark the carton as “farm-fresh eggs” and the date they were collected). Please call 860-663-1765  ext. 401 or email to arrange a delivery time, or drop off during our normal hours from 3:00-5:30.
