2023 KWO Scholarship Recipient
The Killingworth Women’s Organization is pleased to announce that Sage Murray is the recipient of our 2023 KWO Scholarship. Sage is a Haddam-Killingworth High School graduate and Killingworth resident. In the fall, she plans to attend University of New Hampshire and study recreational therapy and animal studies. Of Sage’s many achievements, our scholarship committee was especially impressed that her volunteering with 1BigCircle and young adults with special needs helped her determine her future career path. We wish her all the best on this exciting new chapter!
Helping Hands During the Holidays
(Clockwise from top) Volunteers (from left) Kelly Leach, Holly Perry, Eileen Blewett, Nancy McCormick and Lucinda Hogarty prepare for a day of holiday meal distribution; pies on hand courtesy of the Congregational Church; the pantry is open 2 days a week; bagels were donated by Cohen’s Bagels; shelves are stocked for self-shopping; organization is key to maintaining a friendly shopping experience; bread is abundant thanks to Robert’s grocery; drinks are lined up and ready to go
Trunk or Treat
Another successful KWO Trunk or treat that provided a safe place for children to trick or treat. These events are a fun way to bring families in our community together to celebrate Halloween.
Thrive & Shine: 2022 Whole Health Expo
The Thrive and Shine event at Parmelee Farm was full of resources to support whole healthy choices for the mind, body and spirit, including Reiki, Yoga, Massage, Art, Counselors, Raffles & more! Keynote speaker was Dr. Dorothy Martin Neville who wrote Real Women Change The World: Letting the Good Girl Die so the Real Women Can Live.
Connex Credit Union Support
The Killingworth Women’s Organization would like to warmly extend our thanks to the Connex Credit Union Guilford Branch for selecting us as the coin cashing machine recipient for the first quarter of 2022. Connex generously donated $839.88 to the KWO, which will be used to fund many of our community-wide programs, including the Helping Hands Food Pantry, Domestic and Sexual Violence & Prevention, and our local scholarship program, to name a few. We are incredibly grateful for Connex’s continued support, in both our organization and our community.
