Connex Credit Union Support
The Killingworth Women’s Organization would like to warmly extend our thanks to the Connex Credit Union Guilford Branch for selecting us as the coin cashing machine recipient for the first quarter of 2022. Connex generously donated $839.88 to the KWO, which will be used to fund many of our community-wide programs, including the Helping Hands Food Pantry, Domestic and Sexual Violence & Prevention, and our local scholarship program, to name a few. We are incredibly grateful for Connex’s continued support, in both our organization and our community.

Preparing Gift Bags for Mother’s Day
On April 13, each member donation a handful of toiletries and women’s accessories for the New Horizons Women’s Shelter in Middletown, CT. As a result, we had an extensive selection to distribute. Items were packed in bags donated by a local retailer. Each bag will be gifted to a mom at the shelter for Mother’s Day.

Domestic Violence & Awareness Month
October marks Domestic Violence and Awareness Month (DVAM), a month of activities that celebrate survivors and raises awareness about the issues and the services available to help victims and survivors. The Killingworth Women’s Organization plans on marking the town with purple ribbons in support of DVAM and to increase awareness. You’ll also see signs around town for the month of October to help raise awareness. Killingworth is a wonderful place but we are not immune to domestic violence in our little town.
